A Fantastic Fourth of July Parade in Danville

Kudos to the Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley for hosting what looked like the best Danville Fourth of July Parade ever!

I was lucky enough to ride in the parade on a fire truck with Mary and my son Michael, and had a birds-eye view of the more than 40,00 attendees, cheering and waving American flags as the hundreds of creative floats, veterans' organizations, bands, and local sports teams marched by.

This year was not only the 50th anniversary of the Danville Fourth of July Parade, it was also the 150th birthday of the town. Danville certainly celebrated its sesquicentennial bash with flair!

To all the supporters that came out to walk with us and all those that shouted words of encouragement along the route: THANK YOU! You are the reason I get up each day and fight for clean air and water, benefits for our veterans, and sensible energy policies.

Come to Jerry's Ice Cream Social on Saturday in Dublin!

Congressman Jerry McNerney just left a special phone message on the voicemails of his many supporters inside and outside the 11th Congressional District.

In that message, the Congressman invited his supporters to attend "Jerry's Ice Cream Social" on Saturday, March 31, from 6-8 p.m. at our campaign headquarters in Dublin.

At Jerry's Ice Cream Social, the Congressman will talk about what he's doing in Congress to serve you and what you can do to continue our grassroots momentum.

The Ice Cream Social will be held on the 2nd floor of our headquarters at 6250 Village Parkway in Dublin.

Although contributions are not required to attend this special event, contributions to McNerney for Congress will be accepted at the Ice Cream Social just in time for Saturday's critical Federal Election Commission deadline at midnight.

Meet Congressman McNerney at Stockton and Pleasanton Open Houses

As reported in the Contra Costa Times:

MEET REP. MCNERNEY: Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Pleasanton, will host open houses in his Stockton and Pleasanton district offices on Feb. 10.

The Stockton open house will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Pleasanton open house will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Residents will have an opportunity to meet McNerney and his staff and learn about services available to residents of McNerney's district.

"Effectively serving residents of our district is my highest priority," McNerney said. "Now that our two district offices are open for business, I look forward to showing them off and meeting with members of our community."

The Stockton office is at 2222 Grand Canal Drive, No. 8; the Pleasanton office is at 5776 Stoneridge Mall Road, No. 175.
