Dear Friends,
Today is Veterans Day, a time to pay tribute to the men and women who have served our country in uniform. America owes its freedom to our veterans. We must never forget their sacrifice.
As a member of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, I’m fighting for our veterans. Earlier this year, I wrote and passed legislation that will help improve care for the new generation of veterans who are returning home with severe and traumatic brain injuries.
Recently, the House of Representatives also passed a resolution I wrote to honor the Sentinels of Freedom program. Sentinels of Freedom provides support to veterans severely wounded on, or after September 11, 2001, including assistance finding housing, securing a job and enrolling in school.
Honoring the men and women who have served our country is one of my top priorities. I’m going to keep working for all veterans to receive the care and benefits they’ve earned.
I hope you’ll join me today in honoring our heroes by taking time out of your daily activities to reflect on Veterans Day and thank a veteran for their service. Together, we can ensure that no veteran’s sacrifice is forgotten.
Sincerely,
Jerry
Congressman Jerry McNerney
