Mr. McNerney goes to Washington
As you may know, Jerry McNerney decided to run for public office because his
son -- who joined the military in response to 9/11 -- asked him to stand up
against Richard Pombo. Jerry, a conscientious citizen who could not sit by as
Pombo ran unopposed, ran for Congress because he felt a sense of duty to his
son and to his country.
Much to the surprise of the pundits and power-brokers, Jerry is now leading Pombo in the polls (46 to 42 percent, according to Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research) and has an excellent shot to defeat him in November. But first, he needs to raise a significant amount of money to compete on the air (TV and radio ads) and on the ground (neighbor-to-neighbor field organizing).
One small donation at a time, you helped Jerry raise over $250,000 in the second quarter -- quadrupling his first quarter report. You did this by helping Jerry become DFA's 2006 "Grassroots All-Star" and Sen. Feingold's latest "Progressive Patriot" by telling your friends, family and neighbors about Jerry's people-powered campaign to end the culture of corruption in Washington.
You have already demonstrated your ability to build a big buzz about Jerry's campaign from coast to coast. Now we need you to build that buzz inside the Beltway.
Next Wednesday, "Mr. McNerney goes to Washington" and he needs your
help.
The
ticket price for this event is only $25 per person.
Here are the specific event details:

taking back Congress, you can help Jerry take down Richard Pombo and
